Prakruthi celebrates International Ozone Week

The United Nations international day for the preservation of the ozone layer is celebrated on September 16th of every year and the week pertaining it is celebrated as ozone week. This event commemorates the date of signing of the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer in 1987.
In view of this occasion prakruthi organized a paper presentation competition in the college.

Beat Plastic Pollution, An Expert Talk organised by Prakruthi in association with IEEE LBRCE

 The Prakruthi, The environmental club of LBRCE and IEEE LBRCE of the institute jointly organised an Expert talk on “Beat Plastic Pollution” by Sri. V.Kiran Kumar , Director & Head, CIPET & Centre for Skilling and Technical Support(CSTS)-Vijayawada, for II year B.Tech students of the institute on 18-07-2018, 2.00pm to 4.00pm, in Lotus Hall.  LBRCE IEEE Student Branch Counsellor, Dr.M.Umavani welcomed the resource persons and students. In her welcome message she said while plastic has many advantages, we have become over reliant on single-use or disposable plastic which have severe environmental consequences. Around the world, 1 million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute. Every year we use up to 5 trillion disposable plastic bags. In total, 50 per cent of the plastic we use is single use. The Environmental club “Prakruthi- The Environmental Club of LBRCE” has taken its birth on 18th June of 2018 with its goal to increase and promote awareness of environmental issues such as protection, conservation, preservation, restoration and help students and staff to adopt and adapt the idea and philosophy of sustainable development into their daily lives at college and out of it with an emphasis on educating and empowering them.       The main objective of the club is to develop LBRC’eans with a strong commitment to improve the environment in our community.
